5 Techniques Used in Chiropractic Adjustments

Ready To Learn About Techniques Used in Chiropractic Adjustments

Millions of people worldwide are enjoying the benefits of chiropractic adjustment care. It is a natural method of healing your body without the need for any drug or surgery. Chiropractors use spinal adjustment to correct the misalignment and to restore the functionality of the nervous system. It helps your body to heal naturally. The benefits are numerous and have been shown in studies.

People with back pain, ear infection, neck pain, headaches, joint pains, asthma, and blood pressure problems have undergone this process of chiropractic adjustment and have improved their health conditions. It is also advisable for healthy pregnancy and surgery prevention.

Most common chiropractic adjustment techniques applied by chiropractors

Diversified Technique:

It is the most common technique among all the techniques used by chiropractors to cure their patients. According to a research, almost 96% of chiropractors use it for about 70% of their patients. This technique involves a high velocity, low-amplitude thrust which is delivered to patients by hand resulting in a joint captivation. As the name suggests, this technique can be used to cure many joints in the body.

Atlas Orthogonal:

This chiropractic adjustment technique does not include physical manipulation and is considered to be the most gentle of all the techniques. Some of the patients who have undergone this technique, they don’t even believe that treatment has taken place until they feel the recovery and improvement in their health. Positive results by this technique for many conditions like asthma, migraines, arthritis, athletic injuries, chronic stress, sinus problems, dizziness, allergies and many others have been recorded.

Activator Method:

A small, hand-held device called the activator is used to deliver a gentle impulse force to the patient’s spine to cure the joint. This treatment is used to restore motion of the affected spinal joint or vertebra.

The activator gives a quick and low-force impulse to the patient at specific points. The advantage of using the activator is that it is so fast that there are fewer chances of muscles of patient’s body to tense up in response. This way they can resist the treatment and the effectiveness of this treatment increases.

Graston Technique:

This technique is used to diagnose and treat skeleton muscle and the connective tissues related to them. Six instruments made of stainless steel of particular sizes and shapes are used to treat the disorder. Chiropractors rub these instruments on patient’s muscles to detect and resolve adhesions in tendons and muscles. It may be noted that it is chiropractor must be a licensed to practice this technique.

Gonstead Technique:

This isn’t much of a common technique used by chiropractors to cure the patients because it is more time consuming compared to others and to master the art of this technique asks for a lot of dedication and practice.

Fakhoury Medical and Chiropractic Center uses the five criteria technique to thoroughly analyze the patient’s spine. These criteria include; visualization, instrumentation, static palpation, motion palpation, and x-ray analysis. The focus of this treatment is on hands-on adjustment and is said to expand the diversified technique by implementing the five criteria’s mentioned above.

Chiropractic adjustment care not only heals your body naturally, it also enhances your immunity system which enables you to think, focus, and work better than ever.
